Mother's Morning Out
The purpose of the program is:
- to honor God by providing quality care and facilitating growth in the lives of young children in a loving and safe environment where they can develop spiritually as they grow emotionally, physically, cognitively and socially.
- to provide a Christian service to the families and children of the community.
- to support values of the Christian home.
- to foster learning and allow the child to develop socially in an age-appropriate environment.
- to provide facilities where all are welcome regardless of race, color, sex or national and ethnic origin.
We believe that:
- parents are the primary educators of their children spiritually, physically, emotionally, academically and socially and that the Christian preschool should cooperate with parents to provide a Christian education for the child.
- early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovery.
- hands-on activities provide the best learning experiences and play activities with a purpose provide a stimulating environment in which children can explore God's world.
Planned within the framework of our purpose and philosophy the curriculum includes:
- sharing and conversation time: show and tell
- stories, songs, finger plays, dramatization
- creative art activities and crafts
- working with paints, crayons, blocks and manipulatives
- learning to respond rhythmically
- games and large muscle activities
- acquiring good health and hygiene habits
- food preparation
- science and nature activities
- exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters
- learning to share, plan, think, and reason while working and playing with others
- experiencing and learning foundational truths of Christian faith; example: Bible stories, Bible thoughts, prayers
We strive to provide a loving safe environment that will guide your children in the formative years. We strive to give your child the loving care and guidance that children need in their formative years.
Calendar Year and Hours of Operation
Classes will begin in September 2010 and continue through May 2011. We will be open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please do not bring your child prior to 8:55 a.m. and remember to pick them up at 1:00 p.m. A late fee of $10.00 per child per 15 minutes or part thereof will be charged.
Registration & Tuition
There will be a registration fee of $80.00 for each child. Refund of the registration fee will not be given after May 14, 2009 - NO EXCEPTIONS. Tuition is calculated by yearly amounts divided evenly over a 9-month period from September 2010 thru May 2011. The days your child attends depends on the age of the child.
2’s - 2 days per week (Tu&Th): $115.00 per month
3’s/4’s - 3 days per week (Tu-Th): $155.00 per month
4’s - 4 days per week (Tu-Fr): $200.00 per month
Tuition is due on the fifth day of each month and will be considered late by the 10th of each month. If tuition has not been received in full, a $10.00 late payment fee will be charged to your account. Make all checks payable to Hickory Grove Baptist Church. You may drop your payments off at the drop off box located outside the office of the Children’s Building. If tuition is not paid by the 15th of the following month, and no arrangements have been made with the Director, it will be necessary to dismiss the child from the program. Refunds will not be made for any reason. The MMO program admits all children regardless of race, color, nationality or religious background.
If you must leave our program, we ask that a 30 day notice be given to the director.
Health
Please do not bring a sick child. Children with fever (must be fever free for 24 hours without any type of medication), diarrhea, severe congestion (any nose that runs green, this indicates an infection), or any contagious disease will not be accepted. Please be considerate of the other children in the rooms. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Dress for the Children
The children will go outside for play, weather permitting. Be sure to dress your child for outside playtime. Please bring an extra set of clothing for your child, as accidents do happen. Please mark all items that you leave with your child. This is necessary if we are to keep up with each child's belongings.
Lunch and Snack
When packing your child's lunch and snack, please be very selective in what you send. Please no candy, nuts, popcorn, and such that may be a choking hazard.
Holidays, Etc.
We will follow closely but not always exactly with the Charlotte Mecklenburg school calendar in regards to holidays, workdays, and snow days. Calendars will be issued at the start of the new school year.
Inclement Weather
We will follow the Charlotte Mecklenburg school schedule when experiencing inclement weather. When Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools are closed due to the snow, ice or any other reason, our program will also be closed.
