Next Step will cover some of the foundational doctrines of the faith, how to connect with God, and what it means to be Southern Baptist and a member of HGBC. |

The Backward Life - Disciple Now 2010
March 19 through March 21
The dates are March 19-21 at North campus and the cost is $45, with a non-refundable deposit of $5 to hold your spot due by March 7. Disciple Now is for all students grades 6-12. Our theme this year is "The Backward Life". Students, you will be challenged to reverse your thinking as your Bible study focus of this weekend will be the book of Mark. You will be encouraged to stop listening to what the world says and realize that Christ has called you to a backward life. This will be a weekend away from any distractions that might keep you from hearing God's voice. You will stay with friends in a "host home" and attend the conference together with a family group leader. Learn to live as Jesus teaches and find yourself living a much fuller life. Jarrod Jones will be the lead speaker. Watch illusions by Brock Gill and enjoy "electrifying" worship. Be sure to sign up now and bring a friend, too! The annual Hickory Grove Cup Golf Tournament will be held at the Warrior Golf Club on May 21st with a shotgun start at 9:00am.

We will travel to the Outerbanks of North Carolina where we will relax and have a good time together.
You will be able to grow in your spiritual walk as we learn more about what God's word has to say to us.
The cost is $250 and a $100 deposit is due by March 31. Space is limited and the cost includes 5 nights stay and every meal throughout the retreat.

Summer time is almost here and you are probably wondering what you are going to do with your kids. Hickory Grove’s Summer Day Camp is a great place for the kids to be. Your kids will have an opportunity to form new friendships and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. We offer several activities throughout the week such as Carowinds, Swimming, Bowling, Ice Skating, Movies, Roller Skating, Crafts, Devotions, Recreational Activities and many more. Be sure to sign- up early, spaces go fast. Last years campers and HGBCS students can register beginning March 1st, HGBC members and weekday program participants can register beginning March 8th and on March 15th registration will be open to the public. Registration for men/women's softball begins April 24 and will end May 17. Participating in softball is a terrific way for adults to have Christian fellowship in a team setting. It is also a great outreach to the community and for friend of your who may not have a church home, or know the Lord. The cost to play is $50. Season begins June 7th 2010. Camp Paradise 2010 is for completed 6-12 grade students. It's unique in that Middle School and High School students enjoy the same activities but on separate schedules. Expect tubing, rock climbing, exciting teaching, music and much more.
Camp will be July 21-25, the total cost is $250, and a deposit of $25 reserves your spot.
All students who sign up before May 23 will be entered into a drawing for a Shopping Spree worth $200! There will be two winners from each campus, one middle and one high school student. For 3rd–5th graders
CentriKid is a five day, four night camp for 3rd–5th graders to experience the time of their lives and learn more about the message of Jesus Christ! Camp includes sports your kids love – from football and basketball to cheerleading and volleyball. Whether your child is a future sports star, a young scientist, a rising chef, or anything in between, every kid gets to participate in exciting activities of their choice. Each day kids will take part in Bible study, recreation, track times, and worship. Approved HGBC adult counselors accompany the campers while a camp staff of college and seminary students hang out with kids and love to share Christ through every aspect of camp!Cost: $225 with a $100 deposit due by April 30.For more information contact Steve Edwards (steveedwards@hgbc.org) at Main Campus and Dawn Garner (dawngarner@hgbc.org) at North Campus.
2010 THEME
John 1:12 tells us that “to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name…” Kids understand what it means to be a kid in our world. They understand how to handle school and family responsibilities. They know how they like to have fun, and they know what they are allowed to do and what they aren’t. But, what does it mean to be a child of God? That’s the question we’ll answer at CentriKid Camp 2010! We’re going to look at what it means for us that the Lord calls us His children. We’ll concentrate on the fact that He has adopted us as His own. We’ll look at the ways the He is constantly changing us and molding us for His purposes. We’ll look at the fact that He has made each of us incredibly unique. Most of all, we’ll learn to just celebrate the fact the He is our God, and we are His kids… MISSIONS!
Missions is a part of CentriKid Camp! For the past five-years CentriKid has partnered with the Romany people of Eastern Europe. Over the years, the Lord has accomplish powerful things in the lives and culture of this oppressed people group. A time of worship through giving will be part of one the worship times. The money given by CentriKid campers helps in the spreading of the Gospel amongst these Roma people. Registrations available now!
